SCL Israel promotes knowledge, professional dialogue and best practices across the construction and infrastructure sectors in Israel. It serves as a professional forum for construction professionals, legal practitioners, consultants, employers, contractors, engineers, project managers, arbitrators and other participants in the industry to exchange ideas and experience through conferences, lectures, professional events, publications and other initiatives, and to encourage informed discussion of the legal, commercial and practical issues that arise throughout the life cycle of construction projects.

The Society of Construction Law in the UK was founded in 1983. SCL International is the worldwide alliance of national and regional Societies of Construction Law. The Society of Construction Law Israel was established in 2021 and officially launched as part of that international network in 2023.

SCL Israel operates through formal institutions established under its bylaws. Its governance structure includes the General Assembly of members, the Executive Committee, which leads the Association’s ongoing management and activities, and the Audit Committee. In addition, the Association has an Honorary Council, which serves as its senior representative body, as well as an internal Tribunal for resolving disputes and internal matters within the Association.

Yes. SCL Israel holds a range of events, including in-person meetings, conferences, panel discussions, webinars and recurring annual events. These events are designed to promote professional learning, the exchange of ideas and experience, and meaningful networking among participants in the construction and infrastructure sectors. SCL Israel’s events are hosted locally in Israel and bring together both Israeli and international participants. In addition, SCL Israel members are welcome to attend events held by other SCL organizations around the world, further strengthening the Association’s connection to the wider international construction law community.

SCL Israel brings together professionals from across the construction, infrastructure and projects sectors who want to deepen their knowledge, exchange ideas and take part in a serious professional community. Whether you are a lawyer, engineer, consultant, contractor, developer, project manager, contract manager, claims specialist, arbitrator, expert or other industry professional, membership offers an opportunity to engage with the legal, commercial and practical issues that shape the life cycle of construction projects. Membership provides access to SCL Israel’s professional community and activities, including invitations to its events, professional updates and opportunities to participate in the broader discussion of construction law and practice in Israel. Through SCL Israel’s connection to the wider international SCL network, members may also access international events, published papers and other resources made available through SCL International and sister organizations worldwide.

Membership is open to individuals who meet the eligibility conditions set out in the bylaws and whose applications are approved by the Executive Committee. SCL Israel welcomes professionals from across the construction, infrastructure and projects sectors. Corporate membership is not currently offered.

The annual membership fee is NIS 200.

Yes. You are welcome to attend an event as the guest of a member, so that you can get to know the Society and its activities before deciding whether to join.

SCL Israel’s bylaws set out the Association’s purposes, membership arrangements and governance framework. Among other things, they address the admission of members, members’ rights and obligations, and the roles of the General Assembly, the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee, the Honorary Council and the internal Tribunal. SCL Israel is part of SCL International, the worldwide alliance of national and regional Societies of Construction Law. Through this framework, SCL Israel is connected to sister organizations around the world and forms part of a broader international professional community dedicated to construction law and practice. SCL Israel was officially launched as part of that international network in 2023.

SCL International does not have separate membership of its own. Members of national or regional SCL organizations may register on the SCL International website using a registration code provided by their national administrator, and, once registered, may access published papers and other member resources available there. For SCL Israel members, this means obtaining the code through SCL Israel and then registering on the SCL International website.

Membership in SCL Israel does not constitute a professional qualification, although members may state in their CVs that they are members of the Association. Members may also link from their own websites to the SCL Israel website. However, membership does not entitle a member or organization to use the SCL Israel logo as part of personal, professional or corporate marketing materials. The logo may be used only in connection with events or initiatives in which SCL Israel is a key partner, and only with prior written approval. In addition, links from the SCL Israel website to third-party websites are generally limited to non-commercial organizations.
